All camps take place in an indoor closed facility that the public does not have access to (doors locked from 9:30am – 3:30pm). Please make prior arrangements with staff members if you would like to pick up your child before camp ends as the facility will be locked. All activities will take place in the gymnasium or Cafeteria. Youth campers will go for washroom breaks in pairs (buddy system) and are accompanied by a coach. We follow Ontario standards for child care ratios. Staff to athlete ratios are as follows: 1:10 for athletes 9 and up and 1:5 for athletes 8 and under. All staff members are certified in CPR/First Aid and undergo a criminal records check.
At A4H, we have a proven and safe system in place for the sign-out of campers. No camper leaves the premises without a parent or guardian signing them out. Parents are required to show official identification every day upon pickup of their children and have to be on the list of authorized personnel.
Our coaches are all local CIS/NCAA athletes who play different sports across Canada, United States as well as in European leagues. All coaches have camp experience, with an expertise in basketball, soccer and/or football. Please look at the “ABOUT” tab for more information. All instructors have completed a criminal record check. All instructors have CPR/First Aid, all instructors have (at least) their National Coaching Certification Program Level 1 (NCCP) (many coaches have level 3 certifications).
We have locations in Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga.
All coaches complete an extensive A4H Basketball coach training program which includes enrollment in the National Coaching Certification Program Level 1 (NCCP) (many coaches have level 3 certifications). All coaches have CPR/First Aid and have completed criminal reference checks.
